Story

Horace Silver's classic Jazz Standard, "Song For My Father" spotlighting the sensuous oboe in a unique Island Version by way of the United States Virgin Islands, a place dear to both Anna and Jawge. When Anna discovered she'd taught music to Jawge's cousins on the tiny island of St. john they decided to tribute their late fathers with this beautiful song based on the folk songs of Horace's fathers roots in Cape Verde. The best part was getting to hang out with the legendary Silver in his home, eateries and concert venues more than a few times! Follow your dreams!

Story

Always dreamed of having a Reggae Band jam in my home. Telemann oboe with a couple of Bob Marley's band members (Fully Fullwood - bass and Tony Chin - guitar) and a few other notables in a live impromptu session in preparation for a tour to Houston, TX. Total improv their specialty, none knew what was coming next!

Story

Took this song originally performed by Johnny Nash with the Fab 5 from Kingston, Jamaica and brought it up to date using the double reeds and steel drum vibes! It was easy for Jawge who made his early debut with the Mellowhawks of St. Thomas just out of short pants!

Lyrics

I Can See Clearly Now - Anna Fisher Written by Johnny Nash Used by permission from DOVAN MUSIC c. 2002 MOLIN MUSIC (ASCAP) I can see clearly now the rain is gone. I can see all obstacles in my way. Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind. It’s gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day! I think I can make it now the pain is gone. All of the bad feelings have disappeared. Here is that rainbow I’ve been praying for. It’s gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day! Look all around, there’s nothing but blue skies Look straight ahead, nothing but blue skies…. I can see clearly now the rain is gone. I can see all obstacles in my way. Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind. It’s gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day! It’s gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day!
